The victim, Kamalachandran, who received seven 9 mm gunshot wounds, died on the spot. A friend of the victim was rushed to Vavuniya Hospital with serious wounds, Vavuniya Police said. Sri Lanka Army (SLA), Special Task Force (STF) soldiers were deployed at the site following the shooting incident.
