[TamilNet, Thursday, 24 November 2016, 19:01 GMT]
Mannaar Magistrate A G Alex Raja on Thursday issued interim order against the infrastructure work at Kaayaa-kuzhi, where Colombo's Director General of Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources was silently engaged in creating a permanent coastal Sinhala colony for 83 Sinhalese from South. Tamil and Muslim fishermen jointly protested against the move on 09 November. On the following day, the Tamil-speaking fishermen protested when Sinhala fishermen who had come from Negombo were putting up fishing huts (vaadis) at the locality. The Senior Superintend of SL Police was attempting negotiate a deal between the Tamil-speaking fishermen and the intruding Sinhala colonists. As the local fishermen were not prepared for any compromise on the structural genocide against them, the police was forced to bring the case to the Magistrate’s Court in Mannaar.

Colombo's military, police threaten grassroots not to mark Tamil Eelam Heroes’ Day

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 23 November 2016, 16:06 GMT]
The occupying Special Task Force (STF) commandos, trained once by the British and who are complicit in the crime of genocide, crime against humanity and war-crimes have been threatening the public in Batticaloa, particularly in villages situated between Aaraip-pattai (Aaraiyam-pathi) and Ka'luvaagnchik-kudi, that there was a ban of gathering in force between November 20 and November 30. In the meantime, SL Minister Rajitha Senaratne went on record stating that the SL military ‘would be dealing with’ those marking Tamil Heroes Day on November 27. The SL ministers have been instructed by SL Commander-in-Chief and President Maithiripala Sirisena to propagate a message that honouring war-dead LTTE members was harmful to ‘reconciliation’.

Demographic genocide escalates in Vanni, plans afoot to expand Sinhalicised Weli-Oya

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 15 November 2016, 23:01 GMT]
The Weli-oya division in the Mullaith-theevu district of the Northern Province, created for the exclusive purpose of Sinhalicisation of a strategic piece of Tamil Land in order to wedge the North from the East, is silently being further extended into Vavuniyaa North division by Maithiripala Sirisena's regime, informed civil officials in Vavuniyaa told TamilNet on Tuesday. Sampanthan-led Tamil National Alliance and Wigneswaran-led Northern Provincial Council have completely failed to address the major demographic change taking place at border between the Northern, Eastern and North-Western provinces, the Tamil officials in Vavuniyaa commented. UNP and SLFP politicians are jointly working in colonising the Tamil land, they further said.

Sirisena's demographic genocide deprives Tamils of livelihood in strategic coastal village of Vanni

[TamilNet, Sunday, 13 November 2016, 23:41 GMT]
Sinhala colonists in Ma'nal-aa'ru have robbed more than 200 cattle that belong to resettled Eezham Tamils in Kokkuththoduvaay, a strategically situated coastal village in Karai-thu'raip-pattu division of Mullaiththeevu district within the past two months, according to civil sources in Karai-thu'raip-pattu division. SL President Maithiripala Sirisena's ‘Mahaweli’ Ministry has been backing the Sinhala colonists at various locations in the belt of the Ma’nal- aa’ru stream at the tri-junction of North, North Central and Eastern Provinces. The motive of Colombo is to demographically de-link the contiguity of the Northern and Eastern Provinces. ‘System L’ of Mahaweli project targets the fertile areas in Mullaiththeevu while ‘System B’, the largest of the current projects under the Mahaweli scheme, aims to seize the resourceful interior lands of Batticaloa district.

New Delhi, Colombo neglect NPC participation in resolving fisheries dispute in Historical Waters

[TamilNet, Saturday, 05 November 2016, 22:53 GMT]
The Fisheries Ministry of occupying Sri Lanka was exerting pressure on representatives of fisheries societies in North, when they were taken to New Delhi for a ‘high level’ meeting on 02 November. The fishermen representatives from North were told to cooperate with the suggestion from New Delhi of allowing Indian fishermen entry to the seas off Northern province for three consecutive years. The fishing society members were also asked to sign on a document, which they have declined. In the meantime, Colombo's ministers were discussing the issue with their counterparts at a ‘ministerial-level’ meeting in New Delhi on Saturday. In both the meetings, the Northern Provincial Council, which has a specific ministry for Fisheries, has been completely sidelined, according to the fishermen’s representatives who took part in the meeting at New Delhi on 02 November.

North shuts down in protest to killings of students, killer-policemen transferred to Anuradhapura

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 25 October 2016, 17:58 GMT]
0Eezham Tamils in the Northern province on Tuesday observed a full-day shutdown in protest against the deployment of armed Sinhala policemen in the streets of occupied Tamil homeland. Heeding to the call coming from the Tamil political parties following the brutal killings of two Tamil students of Jaffna University by Sinhala policemen on Thursday last week, all the businesses, academic institutions, public offices and even pharmacies and petrol sheds were shut down. No one, except those, who engaged in marking their protests by blocking the roads, were seen on the streets. Although the shut-down was largely peaceful, there were some clashes between Tamil youth and Sinhala policemen at Ki’linochchi, where an Indian-operated and US-funded garments company, which is alleged of exploiting Tamil labourers, refused to heel the call for the protest until the Citizens’ Committee intervened.

‘Sinhala Police, gunning down Tamil students in Jaffna, is not different from genocidal military’

[TamilNet, Friday, 21 October 2016, 17:27 GMT]
Two Tamil students of the Art Faculty of the University of Jaffna were cold-bloodedly gunned down by Sinhala ‘policemen’ at Kokkuvil, Jaffna, on Thursday night. Both the students died due to gunshot injuries, medical sources at Jaffna hospital said contradicting the cover-up of Colombo. The latest crime committed by the Sinhala Police carrying automatic rifles in the occupied Tamil homeland is a serious security threat to the nation of Eezham Tamils. Sinhala police is not different to the genocidal military as far as the nation of Eezham Tamils are concerned. It was the violent acts by the Sinhala Police in Jaffna that triggered Tamil militant response in the late 70s, Jaffna University student leaders told TamilNet condemning Colombo and its international collaborators, who have failed to deliver justice to the crimes committed against the nation of Eezham Tamils in the past.

Colombo ‘demonstrates’ genocidal approach by continuing controversial Vihara at Kokku'laay

[TamilNet, Monday, 10 October 2016, 19:27 GMT]
0The regime of occupying Colombo has instructed its military and government officials to extend full support to the controversial construction of Buddhist vihara at the lands seized from an Eezham Tamil family at Kokku'laay in Mullaiththeevu district despite repeated complaints from the land owner, Tamil civil officials and the Northern Provincial Council. In the meantime, video recorded this weekend at the construction site show that the extremist monk, Ven Sri Thissapura Gunarathna Thero, has proceeded with the construction of the outer circle wall of the Vihara since April 2016 when the construction stood at the inner circle of the Vihara. 354 families of Sinhala colonists have been brought into Mukaththuvaaram, situated south of Kokku'laay and Sinhala fishermen have put up fishing huts at various places along the coast from Mukaththuvaaram and north towards Mullaiththeevu.

Colombo deploys police ‘pistol squad’ in Jaffna to threaten Tamils

[TamilNet, Friday, 07 October 2016, 07:10 GMT]
Tamil political leaders, who are firm in calling for the de-militarisation of the Tamil homeland, have been avoiding to voice against the crimes being committed by Colombo's police system as they don't want to be interpreted as ‘Tamil extremists’ opposing everything coming from Colombo. But, the role played by the SL police in the war against Eezham Tamils has already been well exposed through the genocidal crimes committed by the notorious Special Task Force, a full-fledged military force administratively organised under the SL Police system. The SL police system operating in the North-East has long been the protecting agency of Sinhala colonists engaged in demographic genocide against the nation of Eezham Tamils. Under Sirisena’s rule, the SL police in North has deployed pistol squads roaming around and threatening the Tamils as demonstrated this week at Kokkuvil in Jaffna.

Colombo’s Fishing Ministry accelerates structural genocide with EU ‘certificate’

[TamilNet, Saturday, 10 September 2016, 09:20 GMT]
The European Union, influenced by Washington and London to impose a one-sided ban on the LTTE directed the Norwegian-brokered peace process into a genocidal end in 2009. The EU is now backing Colombo's ministries that engage in full-fledged structural genocide against Eezham Tamils, complain Tamil fishermen. The EU removed its import restrictions on Colombo’s fish exports citing Colombo’s Ministry of Fisheries ‘improving’ its legal framework, sanctions on illegal fishing etc. In the meantime, the same SL ministry has increased its activities against the Tamil fishing industry in the occupied North-East. A number of public servants in the sector serving the people since the times during the war are now being demoted or transferred. Local Tamil fishermen are being harassed with ‘lawsuits’ while intruding Sinhala fishing companies and fishermen have occupied the coastal stretch of Vanni.

Eezham Tamils in Mullaiththeevu protest against expansion of ‘SLNS Gotabhaya’

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 03 August 2016, 16:54 GMT]
0The people of Mullaiththeevu on Wednesday confronted SL Survey Department officials who were trying to seize 617 acres of lands at Vadduvaakal, where the final onslaught took place in May 2009. The area has been seized by the SL Navy for the so-called ‘Regional Security Centre’, monitoring the coastal belt of Mullaiththeevu towards the Bay of Bengal. The lands that belong to private owners have been illegally occupied since 2009 and there are crucial evidences still intact in the area, the people say. The SL Department officials had informed the owners in advance that their lands were to be surveyed for three days starting from Wednesday. The protesting land-owners were accompanied by TNA and TNPF politicians. The protest comes also after SL Deputy Defence Secretary recently visited the area in an attempt to convince the land-owners to accept alternative lands elsewhere.

Colombo's ‘Mahaweli Authority’ chases away resettled Eezham Tamils in Kokkuth-thoduvaay

[TamilNet, Sunday, 12 June 2016, 21:18 GMT]
Genocidal Sri Lanka's Ministry of ‘Mahaweli Development & Environment’, which is led by SL President Maithiripala Sirisena, has started to deploy violence to chase away the resettled Eezham Tamils at 15th Mile Post in Kokkuth-thoduvaay, a strategically situated coastal village in Karai-thu'raip-pattu division of Mullaiththeevu district, the affected families complained. On 02 June, SL Forest Department personnel, accompanied by ‘Mahaweli Development’ officials forcibly removed the temporary huts of some of the resettled Tamil families at 15th Mile Post. After the end of genocidal onslaught on Vanni in May 2009, the project of Sinhalicisation has been intensified through the Sinhala colony of Padaviya in Anuradhapura and Vavuniyaa districts and the entire Ma'nalaa'ru (Weli-oya) area has been fully Sinhalicised and emerged as the ‘Sinhala Only’ administrative division in Mullaiththeevu.

Colombo beefs up naval installations along eastern coast

[TamilNet, Friday, 03 June 2016, 23:16 GMT]
0Emboldened with the blessings coming from the diplomatic US Establishment and its increased ‘military-to-military’ rapport with the Sinhala navy in the island, the military Establishment of genocidal Sri Lanka has stepped up its programme of militarisation and Sinhaliciation of the strategic belt in the three coastal directions of the country of Eezham Tamils in the recent months. The SL Navy, which has been fortifying its coastal cantonments, mini-camps and detachments along the western coast facing towards the Gulf of Mannaar and the Palk Bay during the past 6 months, has in recent weeks stepped up its expansion programme along the eastern coast of Northern and Eastern provinces facing the Bay of Bengal.

Colombo's pompous ‘Vesak’ in North endorsed by India, while celebrations cancelled in South

[TamilNet, Saturday, 21 May 2016, 23:20 GMT]
0Colombo's occupying Sinhala military has launched 7-day-long Buddhist Vesak celebrations from Saturday in the country of Eezham Tamils while Vesak festivities have been called off in the South where at least 73 people have been killed in landslides caused by torrential rains and more than 200,000 have fled their homes in recent days. The genocidal military and the State have transformed Vesak celebrations as ‘Sinhala Buddhist victory’ over Tamils after the 2009 onslaught. The added feature this time is the open and official endorsement given by New Delhi to the genocide gesture. In its over-enthusiasm to counter Tamils marking Mu'l'livaaykkaal Genocide Day on 18 May, the SL military advertised ‘very pompous celebrations’ of Vesak in Tamil newspapers, inviting the Tamils in Jaffna to take part in their celebrations.

Sinahalicisation of Musali division in Mannaar resembles colonisation of Kokku'laay, Ma'nalaa'ru

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 11 May 2016, 20:22 GMT]
0SL Government Agent of Mannaar district, Mr M.Y.S. Deshapriya, a Sinhalese and the occupying navy of Colombo are allegedly engaged in creating a Sinhala colony at Kaayaa-kuzhi, situated near Mu'l'lik-ku'lam in the Musali division of Mannaar, say Tamil and Muslim fishermen from the district. While hundreds of Eezham Tamil families from Mu'l'lik-ku'lam are not allowed to resettle in their own village, which has been transformed into a SL Navy cantonment named “North-Western Naval Area HQ of SL Navy”, Colombo is attempting to colonize the nearby Kaayaa-kuzhi area by permanently settling 70 - 80 Sinhala fishing families from Chilaapam (Chilaw) and Negombo, said Mr Noor Mohamed Aalam, the chairman of the Federation of Mannaar District Fisheries Associations. Tamil and Muslim fishermen societies have announced a protest against the move on Friday.

SL Governor condemned for justifying military-run preschools in Vanni

[TamilNet, Sunday, 08 May 2016, 22:55 GMT]
NGO sources in Vanni recently released photos exposing the SL military-run preschools where Tamil children were being made to wear ‘Civil Security Division’ uniforms with CSD and Lion symbols of the occupying Sri Lankan military. More than 8,000 Tamil children are attending the military-run preschools in Vanni at 270 locations. While the SL military is refusing to hand over the administration of these preschools to the provincial council, the SL Governor to North, Reginald Cooray, has rushed to Vanni last week to justify continued military administration of these preschools. Former LTTE members at three different locations were forced to sing ‘Sri Lanka’ anthem in Sinhala and the CSD women had to garland him after dancing in Kandyan Perhara style, news sources in Vanni said. NPC Minister P. Aingaranesan has condemned SL Governor's description of SL military as a ‘development’ agency.
