0The intelligence operatives of the occupying Sri Lankan military have threatened Tamil Catholic priests in Mannaar and Jaffna, who have been active in exposing the genocide of Eezham Tamils by the Sri Lankan State. The threats against the priests in escalated following the visit by UN Human Rights Commissioner for Human Rights and have topped after British PM visited North on 15 November. The Catholic priests were active in exposing the recent genocidal experiment of birth control carried out by the Sri Lankan authorities and the priests joined the peaceful march by the kith and kin of the missing persons when they wanted to berate their plight to the visiting British PM and the foreign journalists who accompanied him to Jaffna.

Despite the ‘assurance’ to Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan by Sri Lankan president’s secretary Mr Lalith Weerthunga that the demolition of houses inside the former ‘High Security Zone’ would be postponed, the occupying Sri Lanka Army in Palaali continues to bulldoze the houses of Tamil civilians in Va’ruththalai-vi’laan and Kurumpachiddi now being transformed into a permanent Sinhala Military Zone in 6,000 acres land in Valikaamam North in Jaffna. The Civil Military Coordination Office of the SL military in Jaffna told the civilians of Valikaamam that the SL military was free to demolish the houses and clear the area as it has officially been taken over by the military Establishment. In addition to usurping the right of forfeiting the independence claim of Eezham Tamils, Wigneswaran also went on record in vesting the security of the nation of Eezham Tamils with the military of Colombo.

New Delhi poses new challenge to Tamils

[TamilNet, Friday, 11 October 2013, 18:57 GMT]
NPC Chief Minister Mr C.V. Wigneswaran has to be profusely thanked and appreciated by Tamils for his honesty in conceding that he is not a natural leader of Eezham Tamils representing their aspirations, but a planted one by New Delhi to implement the 13th Amendment. Wigneswaran’s revelation and his efforts to muffle voices in Tamil Nadu and in the diaspora have to be understood in the background of what M.K. Narayanan had told the TNA in May 2009 that, “we know better what is good for Tamils.” New Delhi simulating a leadership for the political surrender of the Tamil cause poses new challenge to Tamils all over the world, writes an activist for alternative politics in Jaffna.

Jayalalithaa fears New Delhi, Colombo weakening Tamils further

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 23:53 GMT]
Citing moves to repeal the 13Th Amendment, public stand of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa in this regard and a recent meeting of Basil Rajapaksa with New Delhi, presumably to justify Colombo’s stand, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa in a letter to New Delhi’s PM on Sunday urged India not to give in to Colombo’s moves to take away even the limited political rights of Tamils. Also citing the 2007 demerger of the North and East “as a sinister first step leading to the eventual abrogation and repeal of the 13th Amendment, which has starkly appeared on the agenda now,” Ms. Jayalalithaa’s letter implied her fear of New Delhi further collaborating with Colombo against Tamils in the island, political observers said.

USA, India, UNHRC answerable to provincial meddling in Sri Lanka

[TamilNet, Saturday, 06 July 2013, 23:56 GMT]
0However condemned by Eezham Tamils, the USA and India have committed on several occasions to ‘provincial’ solutions to the national crisis of Eezham Tamils. The ‘provincial’ wording has also got into the UNHRC resolution, tabled and fine-tuned by the two and passed by 47 Establishments. But, what do they say for Colombo’s current meddling in creating a new Sinhala division, Weli-oya, in the Northern Province, by altering district boundaries and thus endangering the province’s demographic security and contiguity, ask Eezham Tamil civil service circles in the island. While official survey maps show that the Vavuniyaa district of the Northern Province has a boundary with the East, it is now erased out in the 2012 census map, while Anuradhapura will fill the gap.

Sinhalicisation, demographic wedging accelerated in Mullaiththeevu

[TamilNet, Saturday, 06 July 2013, 17:11 GMT]
Sinhalicisation of the Mullaith-theevu district of the Northern Province and demographically wedging it from the adjacent Trincomalee district of the Eastern Province in the country of Eezham Tamils, is structuralised in an accelerated way by the occupying genocidal Sri Lanka through recent activities in the newly created division called ‘Weli-oya.’ The name of the division itself is Sinhalicisation of its Tamil name Ma’nal-aa’ru. At the end of the war the Establishments of the USA, India, several other stooges and the UN were in complicity in sending the Eezham Tamils into barbed-wire camps. While their resettlement is stalled in many ways, every structural effort is now being made with full financial and material support to bring in Sinhalese into the land of Tamils.

Twelve STF arrested for 2006 killing of five Trinco students

[TamilNet, Friday, 05 July 2013, 23:59 GMT]
Twelve members of Sri Lanka Police Special Task Force (STF) were arrested in connection with the extra-judicial killings of five Tamil students, all aged 21, at a beach in Trincomallee on 2nd January 2006, and remanded in custody till the July 18th court hearing, Colombo media reported Friday. Colombo has been resisting pursuing the killers amidst accusations that high-level officials connected to the Government were allegedly complicit in the killings. Amnesty International, and Dr Manoharan, the father of one of the victims, Ragihar, have relentlessly raised the matter in the UN and other international human rights fora. Polical observers speculate that the arrests are likely intended to mitigate serious fallouts from the impending visit to Sri Lanka of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay.

Sinhala colony, military, Buddhist complex crop up at Jaffna city entrance

[TamilNet, Friday, 05 July 2013, 14:04 GMT]
Naavat-kuzhi is a place just 5km east of Jaffna city where the two highways A9 and A32, the only existing land arteries that lead into Jaffna from the south and the western coast meet. First the Sinhala military occupied the junction with camps at both the branching highways. Then a Sinhala colony cropped up in the last two years with permanent concrete houses complete with all facilities at the most potential stretch of land there. Now, foundation is laid for the construction of a Buddhist stupa at this place along the highway to gleefully greet everyone entering into Jaffna city through land. Officers of the genocidal Sinhala military occupying Jaffna attended the foundation-laying ceremony, conducted recently by the Naaka Vihaara Buddhist prelate in Jaffna.

Gotabhaya open on demographic genocide

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 03 July 2013, 18:03 GMT]
Genocidal Sri Lanka’s presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on Tuesday openly admitted that the Sinhala State’s intention is not giving even provinces to Tamils, but to proceed with demographic genocide to erase out their territorial identity, when he said “alienation of provinces based on ethnicity” was not the solution. What Gotabhaya said was also the thrust of the LLRC report that was internationally legitimised as the basis for solutions in the island by the Washington-initiated and New Delhi-fine tuned resolutions at Geneva. It is increasingly transparent that the Sinhala State’s open boldness, in committing genocide in war and in continuing structural genocide in all its facets, actually stems from a collective agenda of the USA and India, said Tamils for alternative politics in the island.

Gotabhaya names TamilNet a ‘security threat’

[TamilNet, Sunday, 23 June 2013, 00:04 GMT]
While listing ‘national’ security threats faced by genocidal Sri Lanka, its Defence Secretary and presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa included the name of TamilNet and said that it is controlled by the Tamil Coordinating Committee, led by Nediyavan, which in turn has control over most of the assets of the LTTE’s international organisation. Gotabhaya who said it on 13 June, while addressing the Kotelawela Defence University, also said that now all the various intelligence services of his State are brought under one Chief of National Intelligence, who reports directly to him (as Defence Secretary). What Gotabhaya said on TamilNet either shows the ignorance of his intelligence or his intention to distort TamilNet’s image. TamilNet challenges him on the truth of his statement.

Kaangkeasanthu'rai, PalaaliWhile the uprooted Eezham Tamils of Valikaamam North confront the occupying Sri Lankan State against the seizure of their lands in the former ‘High Security Zone’ (HSZ), the Sri Lankan military is moving fast with its secret plans of establishing permanent Sinhala military settlements to bring in families of the Sinhala soldiers into the former HSZ in Jaffna.
