Undeterred by civil actions, extremist monk at Kokku'laay vows to complete controversial Vihara

0The occupying Sinhala military is deployed round-the-clock to construct the controversial Buddhist temple-centric establishment, conceived as a tool for Sinhalicisation of the strategic coastal stretch at Kokku'laay, which links Northern and Eastern provinces of the country of Eezham Tamils. The construction is proceeding despite repeated requests to find an alternative place from Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister Justice C.V. Wigneswaran and despite instructions from Mullaiththeevu District Secretariat to halt the construction till the dispute of private land, which has been occupied by the Sinhala extremist monk, is resolved. On Sunday, Ven Sri Thissapura Gunarathna Thero, the extremist monk was demonstrating his vow to continue with the construction when he spotted Tamil journalists taking video of the resumed construction work from a distance.

Emboldened by EU delisting, genocidal Sri Lanka bans Tamil fishermen from entering their lagoon

Christy Lal Fernando, the director general of Colombo's Fisheries Department, who was on a sudden trip on Monday to Mukaththuvaaram, situated at the mouth of Kokku'laay lagoon in Karaithu’raip-pattu division of Mullaiththeevu district, instructed the local authorities to block the native 300 Tamil fishermen from engaging in fishing in the lagoon. He was citing Colombo's declaration of sanctuary. In the meantime 1,352 Sinhala colonisers brought from South by the occupying SL military are engaged in large-scale illegal fishing in the same lagoon. The latest move by Colombo to block Tamil fishermen has triggered wide-scale protests on Tuesday. Mr Fernando was using complaints from Muslim fishermen from Pulmoaddai as excuse to announce the ‘ban’, Tamil civil sources in Mullaiththeevu said.

Sinhala intrusion of fishing trawlers accelerate with military backing in North

The livelihood of Tamil fishermen from Mukaththuvaaram in Kokkuth-thoduvaay in Mullaiththeevu district to Naakar-koayil and Point-Pedro in Jaffna has been seriously affected by the fishermen from South who operate multi day boats off Vadamaraadchi and Karaithu'raip-pattu with the full backing of the occupying Army and Navy of genocidal Sri Lanka, says S. Mariyathas, the chairman of the society of fishing associations in Mullaiththeevu. The Tamil fishermen are not allowed to operate multi day boats. Sinhala fishermen from South deploy banned methods, including the use of poisonous leaves to catch cuttle fish in large scale. The fishermen park their boats at military camps and transport the catch to South, Mariyathas further said.

Village officers in Vanni protest against violent Sinhala colonists occupying strategic coast

The violent Sinhala military officers had also seized the identity documents from the Tamil GS officer. The Sri Lankan State is accelerating Sinhala colonization with the aim of permanently wedging the demographic contiguity of the northern and eastern provinces at Kokkuth-thoduvaay, a strategic village situated in Mullaiththeevu district. Colombo regime is deploying SL Navy, Army, Police and various ministries to carry out the structural and demographic genocide.

Sritharan was protesting along with NPC Councillors and TNPF politicians in laying siege to the Divisional Survey Office at Thirunelveali in Jaffna.

Ven Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, the general secretary of the BBS was in Kokku'laay on Monday encouraging the extremist monk Sri Thissapura Gunarathna Thero for his occupation scheme, which is being projected through the construction of a Buddhist Vihara establishment in the lands illegally seized from Eezham Tamils at the strategic point linking North and East. In the meantime, the SL government in Colombo, through its Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, has issued hundreds of fishing permits to Sinhala fishermen occupying Kokku'laay.

The legally entitled Tamil owners of the land at Kokku'laay, where an extremist Sinhala Buddhist monk, Ven Thissapura Gunarathna Thero, is aggressively engaged in constructing a Buddhist vihara aiming Sinhalaicisation of the strategic location in the Tamil homeland, say their family are being harassed by the officials of the genocidal ‘Sri Lanka’ and the military of the Colombo regime. The monk is constructing the Vihara by deploying the occupying Sinhala soldiers despite the efforts taken by Tamil officials and the Northern Province Council Chief Minister Justice C.V. Wigneswaran, the sources further told TamilNet on Wednesday. The area surrounding Kokku'laay is the focus of Sinhala colonisation presently, as it is the key location for wedging the demographic contiguity of the North and East as well as direct communication between Mullaiththeevu and Trincomalee.

Sirisena's Mahaweli Ministry continues demographic genocide in East

The UNP government in 1984 kicked off a genocidal project of settling Sinhalese in large numbers in the Tamil-speaking district of Batticaloa in East with the same agenda of Sinhaliciation that took place in Trincomalee district earlier. Eezham Tamils were chased out of their villages as more than ten thousand Sinhalese were almost moved overnight by the SL Ministry of ‘Mahaweli Development’ to occupy the key areas in Batticaloa coming under the so-called Left bank of the B System. The SL President Maithiripala Sirisena, who is also the SL Minister of ‘Mahaweli Development’, is now carrying out the same project in a sophisticated manner, Tamil civil officials in Batticaloa said. 30,400 Sinhalese and have been settled under the Mahaweli programme in the district, which is predominantly Tamil-speaking while only 1,281 Tamil-speaking Muslims and 34 Tamils have been given lands, they said.

The A/L student killed himself a day before Eezham Tamils observed Tamil Eelam Heroes Day. Senthuran left behind a letter demanding immediate release of Tamil political prisoners languishing in the prisons of genocidal Sri Lanka.

Buddhist monk, SL military step up construction of Buddhist vihara at Kokku'laay

0The occupying Sinhala military and Sri Thissapura Gunarathna Thero, the Buddhist monk, who is behind the construction of a Buddhist vihara establishment at a disputed land in Kokku'laay, which links Northern and Eastern provinces, have fenced off the area and are engaged in construction work during the nights defying the instructions of the District Secretariat of Mullaiththeevu. The monk and SL soldiers were photographed this week while they were engaged in the construction work. The area remains fenced off during the daytime to avoid focus. While the Tamil politicians were busy with the elections, the extremist monk and Sinhalese soldiers resumed the banned construction work. TamilNet has obtained photographs that document the construction taking place with the direct involvement of the monk.

The assault was a calculated act to pass the blame on Eezham Tamil fishermen, S. Arulathas, the president of the Federation of Vadamaraadchi Fishermen Associations, told TamilNet on Saturday. The denial from Jaffna fishermen comes following the reports in Tamil Nadu media that Tamil fishermen in Jaffna were behind the attack on Tamil Nadu fishermen on Wednesday.

The advice to erect memorial stones has come from the SL Defence Ministry in Colombo, informed sources in Mullaiththeevu told TamilNet on Thursday. One of the Eezham Tamil land owners, Manikkathas Thirugnanasampanthar, when interviewed by TamilNet, complained that the Buddhist monk and the SL military were seeking all avenues to complicate the situation to their advantage in permanently seizing the property. The Tamil land-owners lack resources to legally confront the genocidal land grab, he said urging assistance.

Sajith Premadasa's SL ministry steps up Sinhalicisation in Mullaiththeevu

Sinhala officials of Colombo's ‘National Housing Development Authority’, which comes under UNP Minister Sajith Premadasa attempted on Tuesday to grab lands that belong to uprooted Eezham Tamils at Mukaththuvaaram in Kokku'laay of Mullaiththeevu district. A tense situation prevailed as Sinhala settlers confronted the Tamil landowners. However, the move to survey the lands that belong to Eezham Tamils was halted after Northern Provincial Council (NPC) member Thurairajah Ravikaran documented the land deeds to survey department officers who were brought by the so-called National Housing Development Authority to seize the lands to Sinhala colonisers in the country of Eezham Tamils. The SL State is accelerating Sinhala colonization with the aim of permanently wedging the demographic contiguity of the northern and eastern provinces at this strategic location.

Jaffna voices grief at Indian PM's cosmetic visit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to North ended up as a ceremonial tour on Saturday. The uprooted people, who were promised resettlement, just one day ahead of his visit to Jaffna, complained that the occupying Sri Lankan military was robbing even the remaining roofs of their houses till the last minute. The families of the victims of enforced disappearances, who marched from Jaffna Bus Stand to the office of the Consulate General of India at Nalloor, were disappointed to learn that Mr Modi was visiting the North-East after advising the TNA Parliamentary Group in Colombo to ‘re-strategize’ its approach and maintain ‘patience’ with regards to what it expects from the new regime in Colombo. They urged the Indian PM to exert pressure on Colombo to act without further delay.
