Help sought identifying body

Professor Raveendra Fernando of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine in Colombo has requested help from relatives of the passengers who died when a Lion Air plane came down last year to identify a body. The body, which was in highly decomposed stage, was washed ashore in Mannar few days ago.

Two Tiger boats destroyed - SLN

Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) sources said that two boats of the Sea Tigers were sunk and two damaged, killing 6 tigers, at 6.30 am today, when the patrolling units of the Navy opened fire at 6 tiger boats speeding towards Mannar from the direction of Kalpity.

Soldiers suspected of assault

Eastern refugees languish in Mannar

New amnesty for deserters - SLA

Twenty six soldiers were wounded in limited operations conducted by the Sri Lankan Army in Kudarappu and Kaithady in Jaffna and in the Paranthan during the last 48 hours said military spokesman Brig.Sunil Tennekoon, addressing journalists at the cabinet press briefing today. He said that 21 Tigers were killed in Paranthan and 6 Tigers in Jaffna in these operations.
