New York Times being happy about genocidal Colombo’s President Maithripala Sirisena righting “Rajapaksa government’s tilt toward China” is of no concern to Eezham Tamils. But whether Rajapaksa or Sirisena, the USA refusing to see genocide and imposing the ‘Sri Lanka’ paradigm on the genocide-affected nation of Eezham Tamils is the core injustice to world Tamils as well as to peoples of similar plight in world humanity. Justice cannot come through fundamentally unjustifiable resolutions spearheaded by the USA at the UNHRC that failed to recognize even the name Tamil, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island, responding to NYT editorial “Time for Justice in Sri Lanka.”

Asserting as unacceptable Sri Lanka's President Sirisena's statement that his government will not act in "haste" to move forward the justice process demanded by the U.N. resolution of last October, the New York Times in today's editorial said, "[t]roubling allegations of torture under Mr. Sirisena’s watch — which his government denies — must be addressed. Military leaders who oversaw the bloody operations that killed as many as 40,000 Tamil civilians in the final months of the war remain in command, and have even been promoted. A dangerous anti-Muslim campaign by Singhalese nationalists is threatening to further fray Sri Lanka’s ethnic fabric."

The struggle outlook of the civil society is fundamentally wrong in basing their discourse on the flawed US-set agenda at Geneva. The civil society will not be passing any message to world humanity without pinpointing the role of the ultimate culprits and addressing them to their face, the activists said.

Grassroots organisations, including the Citizens’ Committee of Mannaar, condemned the SL Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and the SL Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne for their recent attempts to classify thousands of Eezham Tamils missing at the hands of the Sinhala military as dead.

SL police shields military culprits of rape in East

While evidence at the crime scene pointed to the occupying Sinhala navy personnel of the ‘SLNS Vidura’ naval base as culprits of the alleged abuse and brutal murder of 6-year-old Tamil boy Tharshan Kugathasan, who was dumped into an abandoned well near the Vidura camp at Champoor on Monday, the Sinhala police of genocidal Colombo was attempting to shield the criminals, the resettled Tamil villagers told TamilNet on Wednesday. The detection dogs brought by the SL police were sniffing towards the Navy camp. In the meantime, a Tamil girl, who was sexually abused by three Sinhala soldiers at Chanthi-ve’li in Batticaloa five years ago at the age of eight, is still fearing for the lives of herself and family members. One of the abusers was still deployed in the area. Her father seeking justice was subjected to ‘grease devil’ attack and had to leave the island on employment.

6-year-old Tamil boy brutally raped and killed near genocidal SL Navy camp in Champoor

A 6-year-old Tamil boy, reported missing at Champoor on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m., was recovered dead after being brutally raped and dumped into an abandoned well located near the ‘Vidura’ camp of the occupying navy of genocidal Sri Lanka. The resettled Tamil families who went searching for the boy found traces of sexual abuse inside an abandoned house located near the naval camp. Military shoelaces have been used to bind the boy to a stone, the eyewitnesses who were watching the SL police to recover the corpse from the well, told TamilNet. SL President Maithiripala Sirisena is directly responsible for the brutality as he failed to move the Navy camp away from the resettling people as promised, Tamil rights activists in Trincomalee said adding that the West, led by the USA and a host of other countries, is particularly responsible for the continuation of genocidal paradigm after 2009.

SL police refuses to register land grab complaint against Buddhist monk in Batticaloa

The Head of the Sri Mangalaramaya Buddhist vihara in Batticaloa city, Ven. Ampitiye Sumanarathana thero, is refusing to release the lands seized from Tamil villagers in Maalaiyar-kaddu village (GS) division in Vellaa-ve'li administrative division of the district. The SL police under the so-called good-governance of Maithiripala Sirisena are refusing to accept complaints from Tamil villagers against the Buddhist monk, civil sources in Vellaa-ve'li told TamilNet. The occupying Sinhala policemen are deployed to do the farming in the lands seized by the Buddhist monk, the Tamil owners of the lands said.

The world imperceptibly enters into World War III. This is a war different in many ways from the previous two. It is not fought among powers, but fought against peoples all over the world. Tamils are one of the targeted peoples. If agencies are hurriedly deployed from all quarters, to concentrate solely on one point, i.e., to detract and contain the national question of Eezham Tamils, that is to consolidate the Colombo-centric genocidal system in order to use it and its military in an impending larger war or in entry into the region. The message should go clearly from global mobilisation of Tamils, irrespective of Tamil Nadu or Eezham origins that they look at the question of Eezham Tamils as a test case in considering world orders coming from the West or East.

Eezham Tamils at Thennai-maravadi face renewed threats from Sinhala military

While SL President Maithiripala Sirisena’s Mahaweli ‘Development’ Ministry is engaged in appropriating vast tracts of fertile lands along the coastal and interior villages in the country of Eezham Tamils, the occupying Sinhala military of genocidal Sri Lanka is being continuously deployed against the resettled Tamil villagers at their traditional village of Thennai-maravadi, situated on the border of Trincomalee district of the Eastern Province and Mullaith-theevu district of the Northern Province. The huts provided by the UNHCR to the resettling people were destroyed by six Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers on January 01 around 11:30 p.m. 21 days have passed since the violent act, the SL police has not taken any action against the illegal and violent act by the Sinhala soldiers, Tamil villagers told TamilNet on Thursday.

Switzerland misleads, terminology counts: Prof Boyle

"The Swiss have no credibility whatsoever when it comes to Tamil Eelam and the Eelam Tamils. Under the circumstances of ongoing GOSL genocide, ‘terminology’ means everything if we want to survive,” responded Professor Francis Boyle to the current Switzerland involved ‘deliberations’ that have taken place in Jaffna earlier this week. “At the end of the day, the Swiss will sell us out to the GOSL once again," Professor Boyle, who is an expert in International Law and who teaches at the University of Illinois College of Law, warned Eezham Tamils. He also noted the Swiss history of supporting Sri Lanka's crimes, especially pointing out that the Swiss sponsored a UN resolution which "congratulated" Sri Lanka as the State killed tens of thousands of Tamil civilians in the final phases of 2009 war.

Wigneswaran ended up advocating the ‘non-descript’ approach of Jayampathy Wickramaratna and M.A. Sumanthiran, especially when the key academic of the seminar, Professor Eva Maria Belser, was stressing that “terminology should not be a key issue” in the constitutional process. The Foreign Ministry of Switzerland has been backing the so-called ‘Singapore principle’ process and the non-descript approach of Jayamapthy Wickramaratne, for which Mr Sumanthiran has been a strong advocate.

45 Tamil girls enslaved as child soldiers in SL Military

More than 45 Tamil girls, who were recruited from poverty-stricken Tamil families in the North have been deployed under genocidal Sinhala military commanders, who committed extensive acts of genocide in the past, escapees from Palaali told TamilNet. The SLA Commander in Jaffna instructed commanders under him to keep the enslaved Tamil girls under their direct supervision within the High Security Zone in Palaali while the Tamil men, who were trying to escape, were deployed as forced labourers to construct new fortifications inside the Sinhala Military Zone, a recently escaped Tamil said providing extensive details. As more than 450 of 600 Tamils deceived into the SL military have managed to escape and ‘military punishments‘ went contrary to the SL propaganda, sophisticated ‘loans’ and increased payments are being organised to keep the Tamil recruits enslaved, the source further revealed.

Diaspora network urges TPC to consolidate fundamentals, course-correct main polilty

A group of like-minded diaspora youth activists and writers on Monday issued a document detailing 15 key issues, which they wanted the Tamil People's Council (TPC) in the homeland to clarify without ambiguity in consolidating the definitions, descriptions and attitudinal fundamentals of the Tamil cause during their present exercise of formulating a political framework on behalf of Eezham Tamils. While expecting the TPC to explore a model of confederalism, in which Eelam Tamils could exercise control over defined internal and external affairs, a proper negotiation required mediation by a third party at a global level. Various Empires, external States and the United Nations have been responsible for the injustices against Eezham Tamils in the past. The Global Community therefore needs greater awareness on the situation of Tamils in the island, the group said.
