TRO's third divisional office opened in Trinco district

Tamil Rehabilitation Organization in Trincomalee district opened its third divisional office Sunday evening at Kuchchaveli village which is located about 34 km off north of east port town. Trincomalee district political head of LTTE Mr.S.Thilak unveiled the name board of the Branch and TRO's Trincomalee district director Mr.K.Mathavarajah declared open the office, sources said.

Already two TRO divisional offices are functioning in Muttur and Tampalakamam.

TRO's district project officer Mr.V.Kalaivarnan presided over the meeting.

TRO is an organization that is dedicated for the welfare of Tamil speaking people. Its services are based on the sole principle that Tamil speaking people should live in their own land with all facilities that needed for them to resume normal life, said Mr.Mathavarajah outlining the objectives of the TRO.

The responsibility of the divisional office is to identify and fulfill the urgent needs of the resettled internally displaced families in their lands and houses and also to assist IDPs in resettling in their homes and lands, he added.

The resettlement process of IDPs is actively taking place in several villages including Thiriyai, Kumburupiddy in the Kuchchaveli division after the ceasefire agreement came into operation, DS sources said.

Kuchchaveli TRO office co-ordinator Mr.S. Thillainathan also spoke.
