'Tamils ready to face war'-minister

''We are prepared to face a war'' declared Minister Chandrasekeran at the Pongu Thamil rally in Batticaloa Wednesday referring to recent political developments in Colombo. He urged Tamils in all parts of Sri Lanka to unite under one banner.

''The greatest challenge facing the Tamil people today is the Sinhala chauvinist JVP-PA alliance," the minister told presspersons during rally.

If the government does not devolve power to the Tamil people to settle the conflict, then even Lord Buddha cannot stop a disasterous war," warned Mr. Mano Ganeshan in his speech.
