Sri Lanka President, PM at Colombo Independence Day

President Chandrika Kumaratunga and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe took part in Sri Lanka's Independence Day celebrations in Colombo Wednesday. President Kumaratunga as head of state and the supreme commander of Sri Lanka's armed forces hoisted the lion flag and addressed the nation.

The highlight of of the event was the military march and parade. Sri Lanka army's heavy artillery, armour and muti barrel rocket launchers were displayed in the parade.
