Fourth poll to select SL Parliament Speaker finally begins

Fourth poll (3rd re-poll) to elect sixteenth Speaker of the Sri Lanka's thirteenth parliament finally began Thursday around five p.m. with the arrival of fresh stock of ballot papers from the Government printer as the earlier stocks held by parliamentary officials were exhausted in holding three unsuccessful polls due to crisis between the ruling and the main opposition party, parliamentary media sources said.

Parliamentarians began voting in secrecy as the ballot box now has been kept behind of the office of the Secretary General of parliament Ms Priyani Wijesekara, sources said.
