Sinister elements behind killing of police constable - Kausalyan

Mr. E. Kausalyan, the political head of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Batticaloa, told TamilNet Wednesday that the LTTE has nothing to do with the killing of a police intelligence operative by unidentified gunmen Wednesday morning at a sub-post office in Batticaloa town.

The LTTE political leader said that the killing was an attempt by sinister elements to disrupt the good working relationship between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan security forces in the Batticaloa district.

“In a recent meeting between the LTTE and the SLA, there was an agreement to work with understanding and respect for the ceasefire. The LTTE follows that agreement. This killing was done by agent provocateurs who do not want the peace environment to continue. Everyone should come forward to ensure peace, “ Mr. Kausalyan said.
