Ex LTTE cadre shot dead in Colombo

An ex cadre of the Liberation Tigers who had been working with the Sri Lanka military intelligence was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in a Hindu Ashramam in Wellawatte, a largely Tamil suburb of Colombo, Monday night around 10, Police said. Police identified the ex LTTE cadre as R. Kugananthan, 47.

They said he had come to Colombo from Jaffna three years ago. He had found employment at the Ashram after leaving military intelligence.

Police said Kugananthan had left the army and was at the Sri Arubindo Ashramam on E. A Cooray Mawatha in Wellawatte.
