Two youths electrocuted in Uduvil

Mr.K.Mohan (19) of Rakka Road in Jaffna town and Mr.Ananda Baby (27) of Uduvil Monday early morning were electrocuted when they were allegedly moving around a poultry shed at Malluwam in Uduvil village in Valigamam division in Jaffna district, Police said.

Police said the owner of the poultry shed had fixed live electricity wires to the fence to trap thieves stealing fowls.

Two associates of the dead escaped. However the police arrested them, sources said.

Preliminary investigation by the police revealed the dead and those arrested were members of a gang engaged in unlawful activities in the area, police sources said.
