Two killed as gunmen fire on football game in VVT

Two youth were killed and one wounded when gunmen riding a motorbike fired at random into a group of men playing football in Valvettithurai Friday evening around 6.10, Police said. The gunmen had used a T-56 type assault rifle. "They could not be identified as they were wearing rain coats and helmets", a youth who escaped the firing told TamilNet.

The dead youth are Mr. Sathasivam Kumaran, 21 and Mr. Rasenthiram Sureshkumar, 21.

The wounded youth is Mr. Ponnuthurai Theiventhiram.

The young men were playing football in front of Sithambara College.

The gunmen got away, Police said.
