SLMM inspects A'lampil air attack site[TamilNet, Sunday, 29 July 2007, 09:58 GMT]A Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) official visited A'lampil in Mullaiththeevu Saturday noon and inspected the areas affected by Friday's aerial attack by Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Kfir fighters. Steinar Holm, the representative of the SLMM observed the damages suffered by civilian settlements, the nearby Roman catholic school and church. 80 students who were writing examinations Friday noon narrowly escaped death while a 12 year old girl among them was injured on her head, when Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) dropped bombs 75 meters near the Roman Catholic School. The shady trees behind the school and the marshy land on which the bombs fell and exploded, in the first strike, had saved the students from the deadly attack. Also on Thursday, two Kfir bombers attacked Mullaiththeevu villages twice, disturbing the second term examinations being held in schools in Vanni.
