Man abducted after refusing motorbike to Pillayan group

A 29-year-old man, K. Prabakaran, from Naakathampiraan Road in Ki'n'naiyadi, Batticaloa, was abducted after refusing to hand over his motorbike to a Pillayan group paramilitary operative known as Oviyan, according to the relatives of the victim. The family, yet to lodge a formal complaint with the police, has been visiting the offices of the paramilitary group almost on a daily basis, urging the group to release the victim.

The victim attended for his duty on 07 June, 2008, at the office of the Road Development Authority office located at Vaazhaichcheanai, according to the officials at the office. He has been working at the Road Development Authority since March 07, 2000.
