Jaffna Fishnet Factory opened

The Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Ms. Kathy Klugman, the French Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ms. Christine Robichon and the resident representative of the Holy See in Sri Lanka took part in the opening ceremony of the Jaffna Fishnet Factory Thursday located in Kurunakar on the coast of Jaffna, sources in Jaffna said. Jaffna Caritas HUDEC constructed the factory with UN aid. HUDEC Jaffna representative, Rev. Jeyakumar, speaking at the event said that the acute shortage of fishing nets in Jaffna district will be met while providing job opportunities for local people with the opening of Jaffna Fishnet Factory.

Northern Province Governnor, Major Gen. G. A. Chandrasiri, Jaffna Government Agent, K. Ganesh, Jaffna Mayor Ms. Yogeswary Patkunam were the other distinguished guests present at the event.
