AGA alleged of collecting money to trace missing persons

Sri Lanka Police Tuesday said a government official in the rank of the post of Assistant Government Agent (AGA) is under interrogation for alleged role in collecting money from the people of northern province promising to trace their disappeared relatives in the last leg of the war in Vanni region.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Prasanna Nanayakkara said that the said AGA had given several bank account numbers to relatives of disappeared persons to deposit money to trace the whereabouts of the missing persons, according to complaints received from the affected parties.
