Martial arts competition to be held in Kilinochchi

The third Thamileelam National Karate Competition is to be held during the latter part of September to mark the third death anniversary of Major Eelapriyan. A training workshop for representatives of Karate sports bodies and Karate sportsmen will be held on September 18 and 19 at the Thamileelam Sports Secretariat in Kilinochchi, sources in the Vanni said.

The father of Karate in Sri Lanka, Mr.Shihan Bonnie Robert, will conduct the workshop. Discussions between district level representatives of Karate associations and Thamileelam sports officials will be held on September 18 and with Karate sportsmen on September 19, sources said.

District level competitions are to be concluded before September 20th, according to a communication released by the Co-ordinator of the Thamileelam Sports Secretariat Mr.A.Inban.
