Computer training centre opened in Alankerni

With support from London-based expatriate organization TR TEC, Trincomalee branch of TECH,The Economic Consultancy House, a Non-Governmental Non-Profit Sharing Organization registered with the Government of Sri Lanka, Friday opened the seventh free computer-training centre in a remote Tamil village Alankerni, in Kinniya division in Trincomalee district. The centre is housed in Alankerni Vinayagar Maha Vidiyalayam.

Trinco IT TECH has been implementing a scheme with the support of London TR TEC to provide computer literacy to about five thousand rural students in fifty schools in the northeast province. In Trincomalee district it has already opened six computer-training centres.

Trincomalee district Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian Mr.K.Thurairatnasingham declared open the centre in Alankerni Friday. Ms Kaaronja, LTTE Trincomalee district women political wing followed by Mr.N.Singaravelu, Secretary of the Trincomalee District NGO's Consortium, Trincomalee district co-ordinator of Trinco IT TECH Mr.N.Kalaisangar and several others, lighted the traditional lamp.

Mr.K.Umashankar inaugurated the computer training class for students. Mr.Sathiaseelarajah, President of the Trinco IT TECH committee presided.

Mr.Puratchi, Trincomalee District Students Division and Ms Nalini, Muttur division political head also participated in the event.
