TECH donates solar systems to educational institutions

As the first phase of a plan to donate 50 solar lighting systems, The Economic Consultancy House (TECH), a Non-Governmental Non-Profit Sharing Organization registered with the Government of Sri Lanka, at its Oddusuddan offices Friday, gave away nine complete systems to community educational establishments that conduct classes at night, sources from Vanni said.

TECH Executive Director, S. Sugunan, Director of TECH, Sunderamoorthy, Valentine from German branch of TECH, Mullitivu district Adminstratro Mr Muhunthan, Viswa from Canada branch of TECH, Ragu and Mrs Selvaratnam from UK TR TECH participated in the event.

Mr Valentine lit the common lamp of sacrifice. Sugunan hoisted the Tamileelam flag. The participants then paid floral tribute to pictures of LTTE martyrs and Lt.Col. Malathy. Principal of Paali Nagar Maha Vidyalayam and Thunnukai region Educational Officer lit the ceremonial lamp.

Muhunthan, Valentine and Thunnukai region Assistant Director of Education Muralitharan spoke.

TECH also donated three higher power solar systems to Thileepan Medical Buildings located in areas without electricity supply in Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts. Finance Director for Thileepan Medical Units, Mr Thamilmaran, received the units at the TECH Secretariat in Kilinochchi.
