Two youths knifed to death in Vavuniya

Two Tamil youths, Mr. Kumarasamy Pathmaharan, 23, from Jaffna town and Mr. Subramaniam Kohulan, 26, from Sarasalai west, Chavakachcheri, were found knifed to death at Manippuram 4 km. northwest of Vavuniya, Police said.

Vavuniya Police condcuting investigations into the killings said the reason for the killings is not known.

The killings appear to have taken place Monday night and the victims were brought to Manippuram from elsewhere by the killers, according to the villagers.

Vavuniya district Judge M. Ilancheliyan visited the crime scene Tuesday morning and ordered a post-mortem of the dead youths who were knifed in their neck.
