Jaffna Tamil youth reported missing

Mr.Gunaretnam Rajatheepan (22) of Navakiri in Puttur, Jaffna district, is reported missing since July 18 after he left for Batticaloa. He has been enrolled as a student of the Batticaloa National College of Education, according to a complaint lodged with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) Thursday morning by his parents, civil sources said.

Mr.Rajatheepan returned to Jaffna on vacation on July 2 and had been staying in his residence with his parents in Navakiri.

He left for Batticaloa on July 18. Thereafter parents in Jaffna did not receive any information about Mr.Rajatheepan.

Batticaloa National College of Education authorities had informed his relatives that Mr.Rajatheepan had not attended classes since he left for Jaffna, civil sources said.
