Two abducted Sathurukondan youths, found shot dead

Paramilitary Karuna cadres who abducted two young men from Sathurukondan village 4 km northwest of Batticaloa on Sunday, were found shot dead on Bar Road at Paalameenmadu, 2 km east of Batticaloa, Wednesday morning, Batticaloa Police said.

Natkunam Suthaharan, 26, and Murugesu Sivakumar, 23, were the victims. Batticaloa Magistrate Vinoba Inthiran who visited the crime site, ordered the Police to investigate the killings and the bodies were handed over to the relatives.

A note claiming that the two men were "traitors," were being "punished" by the "sons of soil" was found beside the dead bodies, Police said.
