4 civilians injured in SLA fire in Nallur

Four civilians were injured when Sri Lanka Army soldiers fired at random following a grenade blast at Wyman road-Pt.Pedro road junction, in Nallur, a suburb of Jaffna town, around 5.30 p.m., Thursday, civilians sources said.

The injured civilians were identified as:

1. K.Vasanth,18, Chetty street, Nallur, Jaffna,
2. N.Gnanasekaram,34, Arasady road, Jaffna,
3. S.Yasithan,25, Temple road, Jaffna, and
4. S.Sivanesalingam, 58, Neeraviyadi.

The injured civilians have been taken to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

The troops opened fire when unidentified armed men hurled a hand grenade at the troops.
