SLA abducts 3 youths in Vadamaradchy

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers abducted three more youths from the Vadamaradchy area between 4th and 6th of March, officials of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) in Jaffna said, citing complaints filed by the relatives of the missing.

According to HRC officials, the disappeared youths are:

  • Thangavadivel Gajan, 20, from Ranjana Theater area in Valvettiturai was abducted on Tuesday,
  • Navaratnam Sivatharsan, 19, from Poovatkarai in Alvai, Puloly West, was abducted by the SLA on Monday, and
  • Thavakulasingham Sutharsan, 21, from Viyaparimoolai in Point Pedro, was abducted on Sunday by the SLA troopers.


The abductions follow the disappearance of 3 farm-workers in Kambarmalai, Vadamaradchy on Sunday.
