Two Jaffna students and a civilian have been reported missing since Sunday, March 5, said human rights sources in the northern town.

The missing students are Kandasamy Indran, 19, and Shanmugathevan Alles Sajeev, 18. Both are students of Jaffna central college. The third person is their friend Thirugnanam Sivarajah, 30. The three were last seen talking together in Jaffna town on Sunday.

They had not returned home. The parents and relatives of the two students and Sivarajah had checked with several Sri Lankan army camps and were told that the three were not arrested by soldiers from any of these.

Meanwhile, the owner of a tractor and its driver in Pandiruppu, 40 kilometers north of Batticaloa, were arrested by the Kalmunai Police this afternoon.
