Externally designed silencing of victims to uphold ‘internal political power’

[TamilNet, Saturday, 07 March 2015, 22:38 GMT]
One of the convicts of the 2012 New Delhi gang rape now makes the world to stand aghast at what he said on the crime. Blaming the victim for the rape and gruesome torture causing her death, the assailant said, a decent girl would not have been out at 9 pm. “When being raped, she shouldn’t fight back […] She should just be silent and allow the rape. Then we would have dropped her off.” An article in similar lines appeared in Colombo Telegraph on Friday, written by Rajan Hoole, N. Sivapalan, Ahilan Kadirgamar and K. Sritharan. Blaming 35-years of ‘assassination politics’ by Tamil leadership as responsible for the 2009 culmination, which according to the writers was not genocide, they condemned the NPC Chief Minister Justice Wigneswaran’s call for international investigations on the protracted genocide faced by Eezham Tamils.

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 18 November 2014, 21:45 GMT]
0Israel has recently blocked Mads Gilbert, professor and head of Emergency Medicine from the University Hospital of North Norway, from entering Gaza. After facing criticism from several holds, including the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of Israel changed its explanation that the Norwegian physician was no longer allowed to enter Israel. The outspoken trauma surgeon, who witnessed 51 days of Israeli onslaught on civilians during its 100-day war with Hamas in Gaza earlier this summer, internationally exposed the slaughter of the innocent civilians, stating that Israel was committing “state terrorism at highest levels.” Gilbert has vowed to fight against any restriction on his movement into Gaza.

[TamilNet, Saturday, 15 November 2014, 08:20 GMT]
Ve’l’laangku’lam residents on Saturday denied Sri Lankan police reports that sought to fabricate evidence and distort the facts about Nakuleswaran, who was assassinated on Wednesday. The Sri Lankan military intelligence and the SL police have been trying to fabricate a story that the ex-LTTE member and former Tamil Eelam policeman Nakuleswaran was slain due to personal grudges, the residents said. On Friday, the Sri Lankan police claimed that two T-56 rifles had been located and four persons involved in a gang had been detained. In the meantime, Ilangkai Thamizh Arasuk Kadchi (ITAK) youth wing secretary S.V. Sivakaran in Mannaar told TamilNet that Mr Nakuleswaran was not an active supporter or member of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).

Freudian motive to Sri Lanka's notoriety in rape

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 25 December 2013, 00:54 GMT]
0While one may expect that the word "sex" may emerge as a heavily searched word in Google, what is surprising is that Sri Lanka has created a world record for topping the list of the countries with the most number of searches for this "word" viewed by philosopher Freud as the most important in the dynamics of the psyche of humankind. Sri Lanka has excelled in demonstrating this Freudian motive even while the Rajapakse family had over two years ago banned most such web sites about sex, preventing Sri Lankans in logging into those sites. This singular achievement may also point to the inner workings of the perverted cultural mind of the Sri Lanka military which has been blamed, and enjoys immunity from criminality, for several gang rapes with bestial brutality on Tamil fighting women during the war, and Tamil civilians after the end of the war in Sri Lanka.

UN, a safe haven for alleged criminals?

[TamilNet, Thursday, 19 December 2013, 01:17 GMT]
Shavendra Silva, retired Army GeneralWhile the treatment of a woman Indian consular officer in the hands of the wayward New York law enforcement officials who stripped and cavity searched her for an alleged visa fraud has triggered widespread condemnation, the Government of India's swift action to transfer the official to a United Nations post to offer her retroactive diplomatic immunity, has further highlighted that, under the leadership of Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, the United Nations is becoming a safe haven for alleged criminals, political observers in Washington said. Sri Lanka's alleged war criminals, ex-military General Shavendra Silva, under whose command Tamil civilians were massacred, and Palitha Kohona, who has a complaint pending in the International Criminal Court over his complicity the killing of surrendees in the Sri Lanka war, hold UN posts that protect them from prosecution.

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 05 November 2013, 03:12 GMT]
Professor Francis A. Boyle, University of IllinoisAsserting that the Commonwealth is simply a reincarnation of the British Empire and the British Imperial system, Professor Boyle, an expert in international law, remarked that placing the alleged genocidaire Mahinda Rajapakse as the Commonwealth Chairperson-in-office for the next two years, "will expose the Commonwealth as a Sick Joke." Professor Boyle found Prince of Wales and British Prime Minister David Cameron's attendance to CHOGM despicable and drew similarity to the American Founding Father Thomas Paine's charaterization of the British as "Perfidious Albion cannot change its spots," after the massacres of American soldiers at Lexington by the British Hessian mercenaries.

Hindustan Times just follows The Hindu, The Times of India and The New Indian Express in this regard. The gang up of Indian’s mainstream media behind the agenda of the genocidal partners has to be vigilantly perused by the peoples’ polity in Tamil Nadu as it is a re-enactment of the times that led to the Mu’l’livaaykkal genocide, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.

SL military machinates caste, anti-diaspora violence in Jaffna villages

[TamilNet, Monday, 01 April 2013, 07:39 GMT]
An SL Military intelligence backed attack that took place in a Marriage Hall at Aavarangkaal in Puththoor, Jaffna, on last Wednesday and Thursday, shows to what extent the occupying Sinhala military has determined to engineer caste and anti-diaspora violence in select rural areas of Jaffna Peninsula to ultimately make Eezham Tamils weakened as a nation in the island, news sources in Jaffna said. The Marriage Hall that was preparing for a marriage function and its manager who is a retired Village Officer, were brutally attacked by a gang of youth organized by the occupying Sinhala military and its collaborators in Jaffna. The reason for the attack is said to be a publication coming from the diaspora in the UK that was stocked at the Marriage Hall for release. Referring to the recent report by HRW on Sri Lanka’s systematic sexual violence on Tamils and to an earlier TamilNet’s feature on the genocidal rape of LTTE cadres, she further lamented Australia still not taking a decisive position for the Tamils. Speaking to TamilNet, Ms. Rhiannon said “The international community must no longer fail the people of Sri Lanka. With the UNHCR meeting in Geneva and the mounting evidence of war crimes emerging, this is an ideal moment to support the Tamil diaspora’s call for an international investigation into the charges of war crimes and genocide.”

Indian police remedy against rape is ‘reconciliation’

[TamilNet, Friday, 28 December 2012, 08:12 GMT]
A 17-year-old Indian girl, gang-raped in November, committed suicide on Wednesday, after the Indian police pressured her to drop the case and accept a cash settlement or ‘marry’ one of her attackers, AFP reported on Thursday citing the victim’s sister, a senior police official and the Indian media NDTV. The girl had been “running from pillar to post to get her case registered,” but officers failed to open a formal inquiry and tried to convince her to withdraw the case, the Inspector General of Punjab Police, P.S. Gill, conceded. What the Indian police had applied in the individual case of the hapless girl is just analogous to the larger political policy of ‘reconciliation’ imposed by the Establishments in New Delhi and Washington on the genocide-affected nation of Eezham Tamils, said an activist in Jaffna standing for the human rights of nations.
