Thamilchelvan slams Colombo for Kousalyan's slaying

Human Rights Day meeting held in Trincomalee

Karikalan addressing the International Human Rights Day meeting held in Trincomalee St.Joseph's College Friday which was organized by the Trincomalee regional office of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) in collaboration with the Trincomalee Police.

First LTTE medical service in SLA held area

0The medical services of the Liberation Tigers conducted free mobile clinics for civilians for the first time in areas controlled by the Sri Lanka military Friday. The program was inaugurated in Vavuniya by LTTE’s Thileepan medical services. Fifteen doctors led by Dr. Ezhumathi Karikalan provided medical services and advice to hundreds of people at the refugee camp in Poonthottam in the morning and later in Maharampaikulam in Vavuniya.

Renegade LTTE Commander flees jungle base

Renegade LTTE commander ‘Karuna,' Mr. Vinayagamoorthy Muraleetharan, has fled his jungle base north west of Batticaloa accompanied by a small number of his closest supporters and bodyguards, Sivagnanam Karikalan, a senior leader of the Liberation Tigers from the east, who is currently visiting Switzerland, told TamilNet. According to unconfirmed reports, Mr. Muraleetharan has sought refuge in a Sri Lankan military camp in the adjacent district of Polonnaruwa. Military sources in Colombo declined to confirm the reports.

Fearing disciplinary action Karuna defied Vanni command and took unilateral action to split, Karikalan said.
