Deeper motives of Nayinaatheevu Sinhala Buddhicisation aim Tamil Nadu, India

There are motives deeper than mere demographic genocide of the country of Eezham Tamils in the Sinhala-Buddhicisation of Nayinaa-theevu, Nedun-theevu (Delft) and Mannaar by the Colombo-centric State in the island. The ultimate aim, as attested by historical precedents, is Tamil Nadu and India, commented political observers in Jaffna comparing the genocidal Sri Lanka Navy-backed Sinhala Buddhicisation to the times of Parakramabahu I in the 12th century. This king who militarily occupied the country of Eezham Tamils and titled himself as ‘Sahala Simhala Chakravarti’ (All Sinhala Emperor), built a navy at Kayts and Mannaar and in the next stage occupied Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu to build Buddhist stupas there.

Continued desecration of Tamil Heroes cemetery is ‘Good Governance’ for Sinhala State

Resettling Tamils confront SL Navy consolidating deployment along Northern cost

The resettling villagers of Cheanthaan-ku'lam near I'lavaalai in Jaffna successfully blocked the occupying Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) from seizing the lands belonging to St. Anne's Church on Tuesday when the SLN of genocidal Sri Lanka brought Survey Department officials to survey 4 acres of lands situated between Maathakal and Keerimalai along the coast. The SL Navy from ‘Uttara’ naval cantonment in Kaangkeasan-thu'rai (KKS) was attempting for the fourth time to survey and seize the lands for a ‘coastal observation point’. The beach of Cheanthaan-ku'lam was a former Sri Lankan military ‘High Security Zone’, situated near Maathakal and Kaangkeasanthu'rai in Valikaamam North. The resettling people have blocked the SL Navy from carrying out the survey.

UN Rights Chief cites IC for rejecting release of Tamil POWs

According to NPC Chief Minister Justice C.V. Wigneswaran, who met UN Human Rights Chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, visiting Jaffna on Sunday, the Chief has conveyed to him that the governments of the International Community are not in favour of the model of granting general amnesty to prisoners of war. Mr Zeid was citing the case of Syria and this message should go to our children languishing in the prisons, the Chief Minister said. Mr Zeid has indicated that the Tamil POWs should go through the judicial system of Colombo for their release. From demanding Tamils to surrender to genocidal Sri Lanka during the war, to prodding them into barbed-wire camps at the end of the war and to the present stand of the UN Human Rights Chief, the UN was always dodging its responsibilities.

Military leaders who oversaw the bloody operations that killed as many as 40,000 Tamil civilians in the final months of the war remain in command, and have even been promoted. 45 Tamil girls enslaved as child soldiers in SL Military

More than 45 Tamil girls, who were recruited from poverty-stricken Tamil families in the North have been deployed under genocidal Sinhala military commanders, who committed extensive acts of genocide in the past, escapees from Palaali told TamilNet. The SLA Commander in Jaffna instructed commanders under him to keep the enslaved Tamil girls under their direct supervision within the High Security Zone in Palaali while the Tamil men, who were trying to escape, were deployed as forced labourers to construct new fortifications inside the Sinhala Military Zone, a recently escaped Tamil said providing extensive details. As more than 450 of 600 Tamils deceived into the SL military have managed to escape and ‘military punishments‘ went contrary to the SL propaganda, sophisticated ‘loans’ and increased payments are being organised to keep the Tamil recruits enslaved, the source further revealed.

Sirisena's Mahaweli Ministry continues demographic genocide in East

The UNP government in 1984 kicked off a genocidal project of settling Sinhalese in large numbers in the Tamil-speaking district of Batticaloa in East with the same agenda of Sinhaliciation that took place in Trincomalee district earlier. Eezham Tamils were chased out of their villages as more than ten thousand Sinhalese were almost moved overnight by the SL Ministry of ‘Mahaweli Development’ to occupy the key areas in Batticaloa coming under the so-called Left bank of the B System. The SL President Maithiripala Sirisena, who is also the SL Minister of ‘Mahaweli Development’, is now carrying out the same project in a sophisticated manner, Tamil civil officials in Batticaloa said. 30,400 Sinhalese and have been settled under the Mahaweli programme in the district, which is predominantly Tamil-speaking while only 1,281 Tamil-speaking Muslims and 34 Tamils have been given lands, they said.

Uprooted Tamils demand occupying SL military to vacate from Keappaa-pulavu

Resettlement remains a far dream for uprooted Tamils from Vidaththal-theevu

Meanwhile, the naval officers of the occupying Sri Lanka Navy, which has already seized 90% of their jetty in Vidaththal-theevu, claimed in November this year that the SLN would be seizing more coastal lands at Vidaththaltheevu. Tamil political prisoners on hunger strike face death threats inside SL prisons

The families of Tamil political prisoners expressed fear on Tuesday that the prison authorities of occupying Sri Lanka have started to deploy harsh methods against their detained kith and kin inside the jails in South to contain their struggle. A violent group of criminal Sinhala prisoners were deployed at the same room of the prison hospital, where 36-year-old Jeneevan Sivarasa was warded at the New Magazine prison. The Sinhala prisoners harassed Mr Sivarasa with racist and death threats, the families of the Tamil prisoners told TamilNet. Another Tamil political prisoner, 32-year-old Komahan Murugiah, was also subjected to similar harassments. The two Tamil prisoners are continuing their hunger strike amidst deteriorating health conditions.

Tamil mother complains of neglect in tracing missing daughter, featured in photo with Sirisena

A 15-year-old Eezham Tamil girl, Thanoja Viveganathan from Mu'l'liyava'lai in Mullaiththeevu was reported missing since the final hours of genocidal onslaught on Vanni on 17 May, 2009. Thanoja's mother, Vathanalogini Viveganathan has been claiming for almost a year now that she discovered her missing daughter in a photo taken with the incumbent SL President Maithiripala Sirisena, when he was visiting a school in the South during his election campaign 12 months ago. The trauma-stricken mother has been approaching the political leaders and the investigating commissions to trace the girl in the photo. But, no one has done anything so far to verify the claim of the Tamil mother or to disprove it by acting on her complaint. Born on 23 June 1993, Thanoja, if alive, would be at the age of 22 this year.

Hunger strike exposed non-seriousness of US Resolution: Prof Ramasamy

Ramasamy, in an article to TamilNet on Wednesday, announcing the intentions of a forthcoming international forum being organised on Saturday in Penang. “It is indeed ironic, that President Sirisena who promised truth, justice and reconciliation for Tamils, has failed to address the serious human rights plight of Tamils in the country,” he said. The conference comes at a time the prisoners in the island have placed the furtherance of their cause at the hands of the global Tamils and the Northern Provincial Council. The forum will be officiated by Chief Minister of Penang Lim Guan Eng.

Maithiripala regime accelerates Sinhala occupation of Nayinaatheevu islet off Jaffna

Sirisena's ministry, SL military seize more pasturelands from Tamils in Batticaloa

Genocidal Colombo's Mahaweli Development and Environment Ministry, which comes under the SL President Maithiripala Sirisena, has instructed the SL Divisional Forest Officer in Batticaloa to put up noticeboards annexing more lands to extend the Omunugala ‘Forest Reserve’ in Batticaloa district. Sirisena’s ministry is trying to attach more than 25,000 acres of pasturelands seized by the previous regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa through SL Minister of Environment and Renewable Energey, to the so-called forest reserve. The occupying Sinhala military is blocking Eezham Tamils and their livestock from entering the pastureland. New boards have been put up with warnings and borders have been marked. However, Sinhala colonizers are being encouraged by the occupying SL military to do seasonal cultivation in the pasturelands that are being seized from Tamils under the name of ‘forest preservation’.

Hybrid court unworkable in ‘Sri Lanka’ context: K. Sivapalan

Internal investigations on violence against Tamils carried out by Commissions of Inquiry (CoI) with members appointed by Sri Lanka officials in the past have always been a failure. "The main reason for the failures can be traced to the absence of political will in successive Buddhist majority governments in ‘Sri Lanka’ to ensure accountability for grave violations of Human Rights of Tamil people," says K. Sivapalan, the exiled deputy chairperson of a Tamil rights group, North East Secretariat on Human Rights (NESoHR). Two of the commissions had “international” presence in 1963 and in 2006, in a hybrid context, but failed to deliver justice. As a lawyer who represented several victims from the Eastern Province, Mr Sivapalan says, for any criminal investigations to be successful, hearings of the courts will have to be held outside the island.
